A very beautiful and underrated medium sized, semi-evergreen shrub introduced from China by Robert Fortune in 1844. Makes a gently arching specimen with the most attractive white-flushed pink flowers in late summer and for me is one of those smell of summer, graceful, specimen plants (a beautiful specimen at Highdown Garden in Goring, Sussex).
