A really lovely old selection of vitifolium with softest mauve flowers,
'grey-white woolly stems and leaves that are truly vine like' G.S.T.
When I took over a nursery in 2004 I found one old scruffy plant of this,
but even then it was too lovely to lose from cultivation. I propagated it. They last years but not a lifetime and if no one propagates them they disappear, very sad. Anyhow this is out there now (hopefully 'Tennant's White' too this Summer)
A Chilean shrub it can get large but certainly earns i'ts place. A nice sunny well-drained site would suit it fine.
(Another name change now Corynabutilon...unbelievable)

HardinessReasonably hardy
SoilAny decent well-drained soil
AspectSunny warm dry spot would be perfect
