A remarkable evergreen climber from Chile, suitable for a shaded wall or sheltered spot , where the deep crimson large flowers will appear in clusters in late summer and autumn. I have never lost a plant due to the cold, but I think adequate soil preparation is important, preferring a very humusy acid or neutral soil that will not dry out. When established it will make a superb specimen and does very well in large pots, up a trellis or wires.
