An exquisitely beautiful large shrub that can make an excellent specimen in a shady spot or woodland path. The delightful, cowslip-scented racemes of soft yellow flowers, appear before the leaves. Makes a very elegantly shaped plant. Really good autumn colours. Corylopsis names get mixed up these days but this material came from Borde Hill many years ago where it won an FCC (First Class Certificate) and is probably a Wilson original plant (Good enough for me...) Named for eminent gardener Ellen Willmott of Warley Place who sponsored Ernest Wilson
