Mikinori Ogisu, the Japanese plant collector has an eye for something different and this honeysuckle is no exception. Over the last few years it has proven to be a good, reliable, and very attractive climber. Large deciduous leaves are adorned with golden yellow tubular, scented flowers, protected by a characteristic hooded bract. Collected from the wooded mountains above the Yangtze in Southern Sichuan, subaequalis is perfectly hardy and although still a rare, recently collected plant, it is suitable for most gardens.
