A beautiful and extremely rare species with a vigorous habit and a desire to flower easily every year. Large single white flowers with golden anthers and purple filaments. An easy to grow species that makes a healthy clump for sun or part-shade, where it has grown to 3feet. I collected the seed for this in China years ago and it is still in my garden which says a lot. I have not found obovata alba a smaller version as easy but perhaps that is just my experience.
