A real favourite and distinctive persicaria collected on an expedition to Sichuan some years ago (Compton, D'Arcy and Rix 549) . Clump-forming and tall with largish grey-green foliage flushed deep red with a broad chevron. Thin red flower stalks in late summer -autumn add to the appeal. Handsome and not often seen
