A scarce and delightful hardy fern. Introduced by Richard Kayse in 1668 and re-discovered by Martin Rickard (fern guru) in 1980, from the same location at Dinas Powys, just outside Cardiff. Came to me via Bob Brown and I'm glad it did as it is an easy, evergreen fern with bright green cut fronds, that shimmer in the low light of a glum winter day. Yes, it is that good and is sterile, so plants are divisions of that very same plant.
