Spectacular and desirable climber that covers hedges in Scotland and the Garden House in Devon. Growing from small threaded rhizomes, given a little attention to position they will gently grow through a hedge or conifer then burst into bright scarlet flowers, demanding your attention. Nothing else like it. I have had much success planting into holes in shady walls to grow into the hedge, sometimes with a stone placed over the roots to keep them cool.
