One of my favourite deutzias in it's true form which I made available a few years ago. as it was too nice to be scarce and only in collections as it was then. Very pretty and distinct with it's small leaves, white beneath and it's arching habit. A profusion of small, glistening, star-like flowers makes a very pretty picture in late summer. Attracts admiration at Kew Gardens. Introduced by George Forrest in 1917 and named for French missionary Jean-Theodore Monbeig who was murdered by Tibetan Lamas in 1914 (dangerous place!)
