A superb variety with large, glossy, almost black foliage with reddish purple undersides, maturing to dark green and making an excellent foil for the bright orange-yellow flowers in summer. A really lovely plant that requires good moisture (see cultivation notes). Named for the Scottish GP who found a tiny plant with darker leaves, when dividing a clump of Ligularia "Othello', she nurtured it but sadly passed away so her family named it after her; I'm glad they did.
