A very beautiful, ultimately large-growing deutzia, which can reach 8 feet or more. Gorgeous pendulous flowers, like drooping spikes of lily-of-the-valley and the most striking, orange-buff, peeling bark on mature specimens. Although it grows very large, it has a graceful arching habit and makes a special specimen plant. Roy Lancaster described it recently in a magazine as his top shrub, so high recommendation from he who knows. Introduced from Taiwan by Ernest Wilson in 1918.
