A very beautiful and underrated "tree peony' with large, deeply cut leaves and big, golden yellow, saucer-shaped flowers in April-May. Collected by Kingdon-Ward and subsequently by Ludlow and Sherriff in SE Tibet, this peony makes a large and imposing, very hardy and reliably flowering shrub. Not fussy about soil or aspect.
